Edinburgh Wellbeing Festival
We’re really looking forward to Celebrating Boys at the forthcoming Edinburgh Wellbeing Festival on Saturday 26th January. If you haven’t yet had chance to sample one of our workshops, this is a great place to get a flavour of what’s on offer. Here’s the listing from the two-day programme:
Recent research shows that boys under perform in comparison to girls in school and grow up to report lower life satisfaction than women. We also know that suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40 in the UK. Reports of "toxic masculinity" can add shame and pressure to our growing men. In the era of #metoo, we need to foster a win-win for gender equality by nurturing emotionally literate boys and enabling them to flourish. In this discussion, coach-facilitator Emma Dempsey and award-winning writer Nick Thorpe - both parents of sons - bring together the latest research and advice for raising attainment and channelling the best energies of boys. This workshop is suitable for parents & carers as well as those professionally interested in education, gender equality and wellbeing.
This event in included in all ticket types on a first come, first serve basis. Please come early to avoid disappointment.
